Marseille is not only one of the most beautiful and oldest cities in Europe, it is also the second largest city in the country. In a city as large and ancient as Marseille, there are a multitude of historical and exciting sites to discover. Some of them are located in the city center and can be easily reached on foot, others can be reached in a few minutes by public transportation.
Truly impressive highlights include the Old Port, the Notre Dame de la Garde church, the trendy Cours Julien square, the historic Panier district and the Calanques national park. The MUCEM (Museum of European & Mediterranean Civilizations) and the Cosquer Cave are also worth a special mention, as is the Velodrome stadium where the mythical Olympique de Marseille matches are played.
In fact, there are so many things to see and do in Marseille, that we can only present here a small selection of places of interest not to be missed and/or located near your accommodation.
